What the shit? The only reason Toyota used those on their LMP cars was to get around wing width regulations. Must have to do with rear visibility or something.

Common reason for sideplates is to keep air from spilling off the sides, but the additional horizontal winglets are interesting...also interesting the lower spoiler doesn't go all the way across the back of the car...I'm guessing this is pretty aero efficient though.
